FAMILY OWNED,
LOCALLY GROWN

Happy Sprouts Farm has been supporting our Kentucky community with fresh, immune-boosting microgreens and shoots since 2017.

Meet the fam.

Our small family farm got its start in early 2017, almost by accident. While Brian has always had a love for growing nutritious foods for our family, the game really changed when he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2016. It was time to take everyday health more seriously, and fight from the inside out.

When a dear friend and chef informed Brian of the health benefits of microgreens, wheels began turning. Not only did Brian decide to grow and consume these nutrient-packed superfoods, he started visiting local restaurants, building relationships with chefs, and listening to their feedback. Happy Sprouts very first client, Darnell Ferguson (Super Chef) gave his stamp of approval and we haven't looked back since. Brian was able to take a passion and turn it into purpose. Happy Sprouts was born.

We are now proudly serving some of Louisville and Lexington's best and brightest chefs, and loving every minute of it. We've also more recently begun a home delivery service to bring this health food to our friends and neighbors in Louisville and Lexington areas.

Wait...are they sprouts or microgreens?

At Happy Sprouts Farm, our primary products are microgreens and shoots (not sprouts).

So, why "Happy Sprouts?"

You see, when we started Happy Sprouts Farm 4 years ago, the plan was to grow many different plant varieties (microgreens, edible flowers, etc.). But, as we perfected our micros and shoots and the relationships with our chefs grew, we put ALL of our heart and soul into growing the BEST, most flavorful, fresh, and nutritious microgreens in the region. Just ask our chefs, they'll tell you.

So here's the difference in sprouts (not grown at our farm), and MICROGREENS (our specialty) in a nutshell: With sprouts you are consuming the seed, root and stem, while microgreens are harvested above the soil, and you consume the stem and first set of leaves. Microgreens are MUCH more nutrient-dense and flavorful than sprouts. While sprouts are good for a crunch, microgreens provide that and so much more!

Oh, and speaking of edible flowers...COMING SOON :)

We're Kentucky Proud

It's time for a little agriculture lesson, given our name and some confusion that comes along with that. At Happy Sprouts Farm, our primary products are microgreens and shoots (not sprouts). Confusing, we know.
